@dan Sorry about you streak.
@Hippasus500
suggested what I’m calling, at least for now, Chill Mode for Left Wordle: Streaks don’t break if you fail to play, they only break when you play but don’t solve within 6. I kinda like the idea - why do we make ourselves slaves to the Wordle streak? I’m planning to offer as an option in Left Wordle (may be a while before I get to it. A person can plan.)
@wordle
@jswright61 @Hippasus500 @wordle Cool! Sadly my streak broke due to failure 😂
@dan
I didn’t understand wood hole - so I wasn’t sure - @Leefromphilly’s Q and your answer cleared that up ✅.
Sorry about your DNF. And BTW, I prefer Did Not Finish to fail. A subtle distinction to be sure, but I think it matters how we talk to ourselves, and there's too much negativity with fail. Working the puzzle is a net positive, even if it’s not solved.

@wordle @dan @jswright61 Too sad, Dan! I like the DNF category. One nice thing the NYT kept track of is which puzzles you didn’t get around to playing. Going back to play an unplayed puzzle shouldn’t affect streaks. Maybe a cookie that’s a list of unplayed puzzles when one is missed.

I don’t currently have the ability to play any game other than today’s. I’ve given some thought to that feature, I’d like to do it at some point, but like most things it's more complicated than it seems at first glance. It's on my list, but it’s not near the top. 🤞

No worries! It was both a suggestion and a design plan. <wink> As well as something I wouldn’t expect you to tackle anytime soon.

@dan @wordle “wood hole”? Is this a tech term?
@Leefromphilly @wordle Whoops…
“Word” hole… silly typo. Not enough coffee.
