Fallout designer Tim Cain reckons his subsequent 3 projects were buggy games 'or, as people called them, flawed masterpieces' because 'we had a lot of feature ideas, we did not edit ourselves at all, and we were a small team'

I still prefer those games over the lame shit Obsidian has been releasing lately. The Outer Worlds 1 & 2 were so bland, character-less and shallow. I’m saying were, because no one will go back and play them again until youtubers start doing 4 hour retrospectives on them in 10 or so years.
I will play them when I can get them for $10. I still have a giant list of RPGs that are in my backlog. Really looking forward to trying Pillars of Eternity with turn based combat, loved the intro and the world, but I stopped after 5 hours because the base combat implementation didn’t work for me.
I enjoyed Outer Worlds well enough, but I’m pretty sure I got it for free, and will almost certainly wait for the sequel to be given away as well. KC:D, in contrast, I got for free, paid for the DLC once I realized how great the game was, and subsequently paid nearly full-price for the sequel. No regerts.
