They really don’t gotta worry about that. Like, seriously. Caesar was well spoken, and that was literally the end of any kind of endorsement of legion. The roads are safer? Yeah, because they kill anyone who isn’t a slave (in actuality or practice). Many if legionnaires we meet in game are abusive cowards, only acting brave if they have a major advantage or abusing people low enough in the hierarchy that they can’t fight back. Then there is the insane rejection of technology, that basically ensues the end of the legion even if they managed to persist after Caesar dies. Speaking of, the legion canonically falls apart after he dies, it’s a fundamentally unstable society. The legion is cartoonishly evil, which isn’t an insult to the writing, fascism is also cartoonishly evil.
Yeah but fascists are so close to running the entire world now I guess even cartoon evil is too convincing for some people
One of my favorite moments in that game was
Spoiler
nuking that bastard to kingdom come
Edit: bear with me lol formatting on Mlem is weird. Got it now, sucks that we can’t put mid-sentence spoiler warnings on lemmy. Oh well.
No mid-sentence spoilers, but we do have spoiler titles. You win some, you lose some?
